CWShredder gets rid of a particularly nasty piece of spyare called CoolWebSearch.
CoolWebSearch is a type of spyware known as a browser hijacker.
It takes charge of the browser and causes all kinds of major problems, such as slowdown, re-direction of URLs to porn sites etc.
A major problem with it is that the ordinary firewalls, virus detectors etc do not work against it since it comes in as part of other free software such as screensavers etc.
CoolWebSearch is known to be one of the most difficult spyware infections to detect and remove, since it spreads itself all over the registry, and to various locations with the system files.
It will also replicate itself if the main files are wiped out.
CWShredder can't stop it installing itself but it will track down all the installed items and remove them.
