These are the incredible beautiful renderings of an apparently simple mathematical formula.

A whole world of strange and beautiful shapes was revealed and seemed to be able to go on forever.

I was totally absorbed as the screen showed the effects of zooming in on the fractals.

At that time the effects were created by a large mainframe computer (I believe), and it seemed inconceivable that one day I would be able to do the same thing on a PC.

One hint: if your computer is powerful enough you can increase the Iterations factor and so increase the resolution of the images revealing incredibly finer and finer deatil as you zoom in.
