I installed
Zone Alarm because a few weeks ago I was working on my computer late at night, when suddenly the little monitor icons in my start-up tray started flashing.
This meant that something on my computer was exchanging information with somewhere else on the Internet.
Normally this wasn't a problem, because the icons always lit up when I was accessing the 'Net, but this time I hadn't been accessing the 'Net.
This activity went on for several minutes and during that time a great deal of data was exchanged.
In the end I pulled the plug and next day I installed Zone Alarm !!!
It protects you from malicious programs, like Spyware and Trojan horses, by allowing you to control your computer's Internet traffic and the way applications access the Internet.
